MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

I know I've been slacking a bit lately, but I have finally found the enthusiasm to participate in another MilSpouse Friday Fill-In! I think it's the hope of the doctor curing my insomnia later today that has me in such great spirits. Anyway, if you'd like to participate in MilSpouse Friday Fill-In, hop on over to Wife of a Sailor and learn how to get started!

1.What is the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?

Ah, the infamous family roadtrip...One time my dad decided that it was a great idea to get the whole family together for a roadtrip. We were to drive from Arizona to Montana with numerous, perfectly-scheduled stops along the way. This was around the same time that my dad also happened to be in need of a life-or-death liver transplant and neglected to tell anyone. Due to his extreme sickness and crazy grouchiness from everyone else, we ended up missing every campsite reservation along the way.

Worst roadtrip ever.

2.Do you collect anything? Tell us a bit about it.

I'm pretty sure you could count my obsession with Febreze products as a collection. Plain and simple, I love Febreze. I have the air-spray, the candles, the plug-ins, and of course, the new pop up air freshener. The catch is, I only like the Linen & Sky scent.

3.What is your favorite part about being an adult?

I would have to say not being forced to drink milk. When I was a kid, my mom always made us drink a glass of milk with dinner. Every single night. Thank goodness I don't have to do that anymore. I like milk in cereal and all, but just thinking about drinking a glass of milk makes me want to gag.

4.What song brings a tear to your eye?

Since Chris deployed, I can't listen to any soldier related songs without having to hold back tears. Of course with Carrie Underwood's Just a Dream, that's understandable. But even Toby Keith's American Soldier, which really isn't sad, makes me want to cry.

5.Describe your first plane ride (how old you were, where you were heading, etc).

I don't really remember my first plane ride, but I remember the first time I flew alone. And the reason I remember it? I was 6 and the airline put me on the wrong plane. I was supposed to be flying to San Diego and instead ended up in Ontario. Let me tell you people, I have never been the same.

It's Friday?

Am I the only one who forgot it's Friday? Where did this week go!? I feel like it was just Tuesday... Anyway, Friday means it's time for another MilSpouse Friday Fill-In! If you'd like to join, check out Wife of a Sailor!

1.How do you spend your deployment money, do you save, pay off bills or enjoy the extra money while it is there to buy the things you do not normally have? (from Troop Petrie)

Chris and I are saving for a house! That's right, a house. To say I'm excited is an understatement. [You can read about that obsession here.]

2.If you could relive one occasion or moment, what would it be? (from Currently On Land)

I would have to say the first day Chris came home. Honestly, nothing truly spectacular happened. Well, other than the fact that the love of my life was finally by my side. I would just love to relive all of the feelings from that day: the excitement of waiting for him to get off the plane, being so overwhelmed that he was home I could barely make scrambled eggs, the butterflies everytime I caught him looking at me... Love it!

3.What’s the worst job you ever had and if it was so bad why did you take it? (from Faith and Deploying)

I can honestly say that I've never had a terrible job. Even when I worked at Target for all of two weeks I got the 10% discount . And really, discounts can never be terrible.

4.If you could play any character on TV, who would you be? (from Many Waters)

I want to be Gibbs from NCIS! He is such a badass all the time! Or maybe I would be Denise from Army Wives. I just love her. And she has fabulous hair.

5.If you could become the world’s expert in something, what would it be? (from Army of Two)

For some reason I associate experts with fame and as soon I read this question I thought, "Ew. I would never want to be famous." Therefore, I would not want to be an expert in anything. I am perfectly content with not ever being the best at anything. Unless you count loving Chris. I really am the best at that.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In!

I am so excited that I found out about this! If you'd like to join MilSpouse Friday Fill-In too then head on over to Wife of a Sailor for all of the details!

1.Do you set goals for yourself during deployment? What are some of them? (from Military Mommy)
I have so many goals for this deployment I don't even know where to start! As I've mentioned before, hubby told me to take this year and do all of the things that I've always wanted to do. The first item on my agenda was to work toward finishing my degree. Along with that, I have also made a quilt, baked a completely homemade pie, and lost 17 lbs.!

2.What would you say to someone dating a military guy or gal? (from Mothering Off the Cuff)
Learn to be flexible! I cannot stress that enough! No matter what, the military always comes first and whether you like it or not, you have to learn to deal with it. The soldier has no control over it so there's no use fighting about it!

3.If you have children, how do you prepare them to move to a new place? (from The Random Ramblings of A Household 6)
No kids for us. [Yet!]

4.Name one hobby that gets you through alone time. (from My Sailor’s Mistress)
Blogging, duh! Plus anyone who knows me knows how much I hate to be alone. I avoid it at all costs. My best friend and my family are definitely keeping me sane right now. Without them I would be more of a mess than I already am!

5.What’s the one food you don’t ever get tired of? (from That Army Wife Life)
I was born and raised in Arizona so Mexican food [the real kind] is my absolute favorite. What else would you expect when Sunday dinners are at Manuel's?
