Picnic Paradise

This past weekend was overcast and breezy and absolutely beautiful. With such wonderful weather, Chris and I decided to go on a picnic!

Since we didn't have any picnicing supplies, I sent Chris to the Commissary to get some. I should have known that he wouldn't stick to the list! With our abundance of food, we set out to find the perfect spot. Little did we know that everyone on post would be would also want to be outside in the rain! We drove around post for about half an hour before we found the perfect spot.

We found an abandoned picnic table under a tree in the middle of no where. It was the perfect spot! We were protected from the drizzle of rain and we had a wonderful view. However, not five minutes into our perfect picnic we started to hear gunfire! Only on a Sunday picnic on an Army post would that happen!

My husband is a girl...

My side

His side

This isn't even including the drawers [He gets 6 and I get 2]! Or all of the shoes!

New and Very Improved

I'm not going to lie, moving from my Mom's beautiful house into a small Hawaiian bedroom was not easy. I may or may not have cried upon first glance. Luckily, very recently the Hawaiian people got smart and got their very first Target! Thank goodness for me since Target is my home away from home!

I was so excited to be there that I made Chris wait for me so I could get a picture. [Yes, he thinks I'm wierd.] Thanks to Target and wedding gift cards, I was able to upgrade our bedding from Spiderman sheets to this lovely, new bed set.

This bed may not look like much, but when I got here Chris was sleeping on an old mattress on the floor with a Spiderman comforter. The first day that I arrived on the island we fixed that. There are still a lot of upgrades that need to take place but new bedding and a bed frame put us on the right track!

Our beautiful new bathroom! I can not even tell you how happy I am that we got all of our bath accessories as wedding gifts. The bathroom looks a thousand percent better! I should have taken a before picture so the greatness of the transformation could be fully grasped. Oh well.

Our next step is going to be trading in these plastic drawers for a real dresser. Hopefully then Chris will stop throwing stuff all over the tops of them and making the room look messy! Apparently the word organization means nothing to him unless it's referring to his Army gear!

Moving Day

It's official! I am now Mrs. Megan Liberato! And along with the new name comes a new home! In a few short days I will be off to live with the hubby in Hawaii!

[taken at the rehearsal dinner]

So, being as excited as I was about becoming a Mrs., I decided that it was a great idea to make my flight to Hawaii as soon as possible. Little did I know that packing everything in such a short time is next to impossible. It also doesn't help that shipping things to Hawaii costs an arm and a leg, almost literally. Luckily, I have an amazing brother who happens to work at the UPS Store and ships flat rate boxes for free.

My big suitcase ended up being full of bath towels and Chris' brand new printer that he got for Christmas [which would have cost $66 to ship regularly]. That means I had to squeeze all my clothes into my two smaller carry on suitcases. Let me tell you, if you need to fit a lot of clothes into a not so big space, rolling everything is the answer! I fit twice as many things in my bag using the rolling technique!

So for the most part, I think my whole life for the next 8 months fits into these two bags. I don't know whether that's really impressive or a little sad. Either way, I'm off to Hawaii to live in paradise with my husband. Welcome to the life of an Army wife.

Welcome home, soldier!

Chris is finally home! We spent his first few days of leave ringing in the new year in Colorado Springs. Chris was the best man in his friend Brad's wedding on New Year's Day. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and made me even more excited for our wedding! Only 5 days away! Until then, I'll just be spending time with the love of my life, right here in Arizona. Home sweet home.
