Chris leaves for deployment soon. We're still not exactly sure on the date but it's around 2 months from now. I try to keep my mind off it but with having to pack his gear to get shipped and all his physical testing to make sure he's ready to go, it's hard to not think of it. In the mean time, we're trying to spend as much time together as the Army allows. We do have 17 days of leave to look forward to at the end of this month! So I'll just keep my thoughts on leave and put off thinking about deployment until after that!

This morning I awoke to the sounds of boots stomping around the living room followed by my husband saying, "I bet my wife will make us breakfast!" Two seconds later the bedroom door flew open to reveal my hubby and his friend, looking like little kids on Christmas morning. I wasn't even going to try to say no to faces like that so a few minutes later I was in the kitchen preparing for a breakfast feast. I made bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy while the boys spread out on the couch to watch tv. Then, in the blink of an eye, breakfast was gone, boots were taken off, uniform tops were shed, and the boys were sleeping. Of course!
(Hubby's boots, top and beret left behind before his nap. At least they're in a nice little pile this time.)
Normally, I would make cookies during nap time but I made them yesterday while Chris was at work. When I went to sleep last night there were over a dozen left. When I woke up this morning there were two. Apparently Chris took them to the guys in his section for "breakfast" before pt. Maybe I should start making muffins instead so that the guys get some real breakfast!
